The Beginnings of an Analog Life

At the beginning of 2026 I joined an analog life challenge somewhere (honestly I think IG but it could have been anywhere). I was (am?) making a concerted effort to lower my anxiety level and I decided that steering away from social media wouldn't be a bad thing. Step one: I set limits on social media. Specifically Facebook and Instagram. I gave myself 3 hours per day of mindless scrolling. I have stuck to that pretty closely, however, I would love to get it a little lower. Maybe I will make a goal of no more than 2 hours in 2027.  Step two: Limit mindless TV viewing. Honestly, this was super duper easy. I don't love watching TV for the sake of watching TV. I will watch if there's a movie I have been waiting for or even occasionally a TV show but honestly I hate getting sucked into a series. I like short series. Case in point, although I love the Gilmore Girls, I have never seen the whole show. I will, however, watch a show with people so I do manage to get through them th...

Now Over Next by Hope Reagan Harris

Fun fact about me: I want to experience every single thing that this world has available to me. All of it. Preferably at once. I don't want to miss a single thing. I want to see all the places. I want to meet all the people. I want the morning breakfast and the late night Denny's and dancing in the rain and couch snuggles with a movie and spontaneous trips and surprise parties. All of it.  I'm also a very socially awkward, neurodivergent female. That's the first time that I have typed that descriptor about myself. But it is true. Social situations are painfully hard, especially the first time. I open mouth and insert foot more than I can count in a hundred years. I am weird. My passions (autocorrect fixed that to fashions the first time - also accurate) are deep and long and rarely anything anyone else would care to hear about. I have practiced being normal for a very long time now. I mimic actions, I copy phrases. I survived. This difference of mine (because now we a...

Job Illuminated Bible

This is the link to the Book of Job that we are using in our study at my church. Below you will see the post that I made on my homesteading page regarding our unique church and what we are currently studying there. I attend a unique church. We are more of a Bible study than a traditional church. We start each Sunday morning with coffee and maybe a dessert and fellowship. We have a small song service with traditional hymns followed by communion. Then we study and discuss whatever book we are currently reading. Right now we are reading Job. We vote on our selection and I think we all thought Job would be a little less annoying than it is. His friends are trying to find fault when God has clearly stated that he is without reproach. Anyway, it has led to good discussion and all of us have benefited from it but we are almost through and reading to move on. I'll share our next book when we get it started. I love that we get a copy of that book alone and the format contains wide margins ...
